JACKSONVILLE, Fla. ? The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is featuring a December 2017 case as their "Cold Case Spotlight" this month.
January's case is the killing of Ariyan Johnson, 19, Quasean Trotter, 20, and their 10-month-old daughter Arielle Trotter. Police say this "horrendous" crime has still not been solved and detectives have run out of leads.
The family of three was found dead at a home in the 8900 block of India Avenue in the Arlington area on Dec. 12, 2017 when JSO and the Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department were responding to a house fire.
The parents had clearly been shot before the fire started, police said. However, it appeared Arielle died slowly and painfully from smoke inhalation. Police believe the child was walking around towards her parents when she collapsed from the smoke.
