A former Pennsylvania nurse who, in May, had been accused of killing two patients with doses of insulin now faces more murder charges and has confessed to trying to kill 19 additional people at several locations, authorities said Thursday.

Heather Pressdee, 41, is accused of administering excessive amounts of insulin to patients in her care, some of whom were diabetic and required insulin, and some of whom were not, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General?s Office.

In total, 17 patients died who had been cared for by Pressdee.

Pressdee has admitted to trying to kill 19 other patients with insulin at five different rehabilitation centers across the state as far back as 2020, and as recently as this year, the Pennsylvania Attorney General?s Office said.

The victims ranged in age from 43 to 104.

HOW are these people not getting caught earlier?! And it's always insulin. You would think the first dozen or so times this has happened would maybe require putting more checks and balances in place at nursing homes/hospitals etc.

Whats the point of murdering an 104 year old? They are going to die soon anyway.

The insulin is probably just stored in the fridge, so its easy to get a hold of.

Nurse gets life in prison after admitting she intentionally gave patients excess insulin, prosecutors say

A nurse accused of killing three patients at skilled nursing facilities across Pennsylvania and attempting to kill 19 other people in her care pleaded guilty Thursday and was sentenced to life in prison, according to a news release from Attorney General Michelle Henry.

Former nurse Heather Pressdee’s sentence includes three consecutive life sentences for the first-degree murders and 380 to 760 years of consecutive incarceration for the attempted murders, the release says.
Pressdee, 41, pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty, her attorney Phillip DiLucente told CNN on Thursday.

I've always thought that if a person were going to go all serial killer but be able to hide it well, a nursing home situation would be the way to go. So many families do not visit or keep up on their family members and the rotating of staff along with the ability of patients to communicate. it all makes for a perfect situation.
