The children of the victim, identified as Ajike ?AJ? Owens, were playing in a field near an apartment complex in Ocala when attorney Ben Crump said an unidentified white woman, 58, ?began yelling at them to get off her land and calling them racial slurs.?

According to Crump?s statement, after the woman yelled slurs at Owens? children, they accidentally left an iPad behind, which the woman took.

When one of Owens? children went to retrieve it, she threw it, hitting the boy and cracking the screen. Owens walked across the street to speak to her neighbor after learning what happened, according to Crump.

?She knocked on the door, and at that point, the woman allegedly shot through the door, hitting AJ, who later died from her injuries,? Crump said.

This is what I was afraid of when the renters across from our old house went batshit crazy because I told their kids not to hit my car with their ball anymore, and to be careful because we lived on a blind curve and they played in the road (how dare I worry about her kids getting killed in front of my house). The husband kept telling me he was in the military and mimed having a gun to shoot me. They would stand outside and scream obscenities and threaten us every time we went outside. They are the reason we decided to move because I could totally see them actually shooting us and getting away with it. The year we were there after this happened was a total nightmare and I never walked outside of my house without the video rolling on my phone. The cops became frequent visitors at our house and they basically told us they couldn't do much until they actually hurt us.

That Sheriff is where it's at. I GUARANTEE if this happened in Glynn County, you bet your ASS that she wouldn't even be arrested. They use these laws to "legally" kill POC. Count how many times racists have killed POC using the Stand Your Ground "out" versus how many times people actually NEEDED the law. It's a loophole many cops use to write off the deaths of POC.

This guy wasn't just going to open and shut this one. Think about it. They had to ACTUALLY FIND a reason why she WASN'T innocent. They actually had to work around this law to prove that a blatant murder was murder. That's fucking maddening to me.

A Florida sheriff says he was 'glad' to arrest a white woman who shot dead her black neighbor in a dispute over her kids after viewing damning security footage and spotting several 'b******t' claims in her interview.

Lorincz's claims she 'feared for her life' were dismissed as 'BS' by Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods on Thursday who said 'the cameras were the final nail.'

Woods said accounts from Owens' children was backed up by surveillance footage from a neighbor's home.

'There are things that people say that we're able to prove is a yellow flag – a b******t flag – and say no that is wrong,' he told WFTV.

'She couldn't see through the door, she couldn't see the individual. So her comments that she was in fear of her life… raises the hair on the back of our neck.'
