Brookson, 22, was last seen leaving work on April 30 in the Budlong Woods neighborhood.
The University of Illinois at Chicago student was found dead on May 2 in Lake Michigan near Bryn Mawr Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
An autopsy the next day was inconclusive, and the cause and manner of her death are still pending. She vanished at the same time as her boyfriend Daniel Sotelo.Sotelo, who was dating Brookson, was found dead in Lake Michigan around a mile offshore on May 22.
County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed those remains were Sotelo, 26, based on dental records, and his cause of death was recorded as drowning.
He vanished in April after being seen in the 1700 block of South Racine Avenue. No other details have been released about his or Brookson's deaths.
I am still baffled. It could be that one of them went in and the other tried to save them. But if that were the case, you would think her autopsy found she drowned, but it was inconclusive..?
