I thought that they stopped making barbiturates?
They dont really have a use for them in human medicine, but we use them a lot in veterinary medicine, though it does help people with seizures I believe.
To answer your question, yes they still manufacture them for veterinary purposes. Pre-surgery medication, seizures, and euthanasia.
