I view Lil Nas' music as not really being rap though. I know he's in the genre, but it's so much more than just rap and the way he takes what he's feeling and turns it in to pure art is something to behold. No offense to rappers out there, but his subject matter on his last release is so much more cerebral than the majority of rappers out there and most of his songs are more singing than rap. I actually can't stand rap, but I love his stuff lol.
