RIP Mindy
RIP Mindy
OMG.
i didnt really know her, and I think that i joined in the tail end of the FM thing (or was still in lurker status) but I still feel this loss because its one of our own.
R.I.P Mindy - there are many people here that care about you and will miss you.
Just finished reading Fancypants blogs on her myspace. What a brave young woman!! I did have the pleasure of talking to her a few times here on MDS. She was really very sweet.
I can't stop the tears from flowing, life is just so unfair.
What a remarkable young woman.
RIP Fancypants, you will be missed

Jesus, to soldier on like that and to fight the fight and be so stoic about it. I bet the last moments of her life, the ones where she knew that this was it, she faced with a calm and understanding that most could only wish for. She probably thought that in the end, the illness may have won the battle for her body, but lost the war for her soul. Her soul is in every post, every memory, and every thought of those who knew her personally or not.
And the way I see it she'll find her way back and be apart of the lives of many others, and maybe knowing deep down what it means to fight hard till the end, and sharing that gift with others who need it.

I really like what you wrote. I think she would, too.
A loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter.
im really saying this in the nicest way possible... but, at least, shouldnt the death of MDS members be allowed for everyone to see?
please?
does anyone know what kind of cancer she had?

Nooo.
Not fair. Man, I'd always check on her, just to see her login date. I wouldn't bug her with tons of PM's or anything, but just wanted to check on her.
Ron's going to be broken hearted.
SHE is the type of person people should aspire to be. She NEVER complained, NEVER tried to make any of the conversations on here about her or her problems. She was sweet, matter of fact, positive, god the list could go on. This is a shame. Absolutely.
RIP Mindy

Couldn't have said it better.
RIP Mindy. You have touched many hearts.
She really seemed to handle her illness with grace and courage. Truly a loss.

[/quote]Mesenchymal Chondrosarcoma
Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma is a rare sarcoma. It is a malignant type of chondrosarcoma, or cancer of cartilage. Approximately two thirds of cases of mesenchymal chondrosarcoma occur in bone while the rest occur in places outside of the bone—i.e., in extra-skeletal locations. Unlike other types of malignant chondrosarcoma, which have a tendency to grow more slowly and rarely develop metastases, Mesenchymal Chondrosarcoma is a fast growing tumor that spreads more often. http://www.liddyshriversarcomainitiative.org/Sarcomas/mesenchymal_chondrosarcoma.htm
"I am 23 years old and I have cancer (Mesenchymal Chondrosarcoma)that is trying to kill me. I have been fighting it since February 18, 2005. I am now paralyzed from my chest down but we are just getting lots of new toys to help me get around and try to be more independent. My family is amazing and they support me and help me so much. I am STRONG AS IRON and I will remain that way."
From her about me.
Fancypants you are loved and will be missed.
This is unbelievable. One of our own has passed? That's definitely too sad for words. I never did meet Fancypants, but I'm going to do some sleuthing and read her posts.
She was obviously a brave girl - she's been battling cancer since '05. RIP beautiful girl.

I've concluded that the majority of people who can see her profile are on her Friends list.

This was the hardest death I have posted. Forgive me if I didn't think about premium or non.

Are you logged into myspace? Is your age over the age of 18? Those all could affect what happens when viewing someone else's page.

You're right; I didn't think of that. Yes, my age is over 18, but I'm not sure if I'm logged in.

Are you logged into Myspace? If not, and she had her page set to Over 18 only, then you can't see it.
