Her trial was supposed to happen last month before it got pushed back again. The trial for the woman charged with the 2007 murder of her roommate, Anita Knutson, has been rescheduled, once again.
District Court Judge Richard Hagar approved Nichole Rice’s motion for a continuance during a hearing on Thursday.
This comes after Rice’s new attorney, Richard Sand, said he needs more time to get up to speed with the case, after Rice’s lead attorney, Phillip Becher, quit the law firm representing her.
Sand also stated in the continuance motion that an evidence report recently submitted by the state needs further review. He believes that the report speaks to his theory of a different suspect in the murder, Devin Hall, who was recently re-interviewed about the murder.
Sand revealed that Hall chose to invoke his right to remain silent when questioned about the murder weapon, during his recent deposition.
I need to read more into this case. So, it was her roommate?
Yep I just re-read and it was her roommate. It doesn't seem to explain what took so goddamn long to arrest her. They had people reporting in 2008 that she was blabbing about the murder. While I was reading through, it was sad to find out that her brother died by suicide and the obit states that another sister was also deceased. This poor family.

Jury selection for the trial of the woman accused of the 2007 murder of her roommate Anita Knutson began Monday in Grand Forks.
Opening statements in the trial of Nichole Rice, 37, Minot, are expected this afternoon after the jury and alternates are empaneled. Two groups of 50 potential jurors were interviewed Monday morning and afternoon, with the first day concluding with the dismissal of some potential jurors for cause.
https://www.kxnet.com/news/top-stori...nutson-murder/After roughly five hours of deliberation over two days, the jury in the Nichole Rice murder trial Wednesday has returned a verdict of not guilty.
Rice cried when the verdict was read. Audible gasps and shocked outbursts could be heard among those in attendance.
The defense called only one witness: James Douglas Kouns, a former FBI investigator who now owns a private investigation firm, as its expert witness.
Kouns essentially testified that police failed to follow up on leads that pointed to other credible suspects in the 2007 murder of Anita Knutson other than Nichole Rice.
The defense also argued police were sloppy and rushed in their investigation and settled on Rice only after feeling public pressure from their failure to crack the decades-long cold case and the national publicity coming from the “Cold Case” involvement.
Now a young woman is gone forever, still, and we have no one to blame as the guilty murderous inhuman sack of monkey spunk that they are. I want answers as to how this could have happened. Fuck this bullshit.

WHAT THE FUCK IM MAD ON THE INTERNET.
First of all, did this Rice persons parents lie for her about her alilbi?
She had been giving conflicting statements AND had been telling people she fucking did it. And they took how long to arrest her?
Jurors are unpredictable.
