Juriah Fields’ death was the last in a string of three homicides that happened in Arlington from Sunday night to Monday afternoon.
But for his family and friends, the well-known local musician was more than just a number.
“My cousin was a recording artist who loved the art of music and a man of strong faith,” Shelby McQueen-Wyman said in an email to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “We will carry on his vision.”
McQueen-Wyman shared one of Fields’ music videos with the newspaper. The song titled “Run It” was filmed in part outside of Fields’ high school, Mansfield Timberview High School.
“My life got me feeling alive ... you should have seen the road traveled just to get here,” the 29-year-old rapped. The song was posted to YouTube in 2017.
On Monday just before 4 p.m., Fields was found in the driveway of a home in the 600 block of Rosarita Road in Arlington with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Juriah Fields went by the name “Juriah Jones” professionally.
