The link below is a recent story about her case:

I wonder what she wrote in the note. Given she only had her cellphone with her it makes you wonder if she was meeting someone, planning on returning soon after making a call or if she harmed herself or was harmed.

I seriously cannot fathom the not knowing that her family is still going through.

Human remains were found in 2023, which they said were likely Amanda; however, I cannot find anything confirming it was her.

On March 17, 2023, search operations were ended in the 300 block of Mound Ridge Rd. After three days of searching, several items were discovered along with human skeletal remains.

The items of clothing that have been recovered during the search from March 15-17, 2023 are consistent with those same items and a .270 rifle was also located.

Further search of the clothing resulted in the discovery of a cell phone matching the description provided for Amanda’s cellular phone.

Additionally, a Missouri driver’s license belonging to Amanda Caudill was located within one of the pockets.

The remains were turned over to the Crawford County Coroner’s Office for identifications purposes and it may be several months before any confirmation of identity.

@Nic - I know!!! I am kicking myself for not putting the story into the actual post I made above. I cannot find anything about the content in the note itself.

Her Namus page is still up, and Crawford County, MO has no UID remains listed on Namus, so I think the remains did not belong to her (or they are so sure the remains are hers that they did not list them, but they haven't received DNA back so her Namus is still up). If they get a match her Namus will come down immediately.

It takes a surprisingly long time to get DNA back, even when they are pretty sure who it belongs to. It took two years to get DNA back on this case https://mydeathspace.com/vb/showthre...ight=Braum%27s and they knew pretty much for sure it was her when the found them, so it's possible something will still come through on this case.

@RBW - the FB page for her provided an update a couple of weeks ago saying they are still waiting on the DNA. It does take forever.
