Someone in the in thread said it was a version of the show called "Who the Bleep" where people involved aren't necessarily married.

She's on HLN now. New tape ?
WHY IS THIS NOT JUST IN THE REGULAR JODI THREAD SINCE THERE'S NOTHING ELSE TO TALK ABOUT IN THAT THREAD???? Why does it need its own thread??? WHYYYYY???
Hi,
I recently watched the Jodi Arias episode in the Investigation Discovery (crap series) "Who the Bleep Did I Marry?" I personally had somethings from that episode that upset me, and is a huge reflection of our times and how the media's moral fiber is slipping to a new low... It's like people don't even care about the sanctity of life anymore... and they're only goal to make these shows are for money. We shouldn't be talking about the production value, but instead about the core philosophies that surround the making of these shows!
My first point is: Jodi Arias was never MARRIED! They made an episode of her and Ryan Burns in response of Travis's family not wanting to participate in the episode. How desperate do you have to be to make an episode that neither of the characters were married to a title that revolves around a premise of Marriage? This shows they are only in it for the money and could care less about the value of their work, the sanctity of life, and public relations. It shows how talentless and uncreative they are in picking a subject, storytelling, and execution!!! There are million of stories that could have clearer sense of conscience, and might even play a therapeutic element to victims and loved ones... They need better story writers.
Secondly, the episode itself is poorly researched and poorly executed. The shower scene is hugely inaccurate, the sequence of events are not concrete to the facts... and last RYAN Burns was a minimal part of the conviction and arrest of Jodi Arias... Police had more than enough evidence to arrest her regardless of Ryan Burns (Ryan Burns is the guy she was Married to in this episode)... I would be ashamed if I was him... How much did they pay him? Like 1 thousand dollars?
There should be laws the protect the families and the dead from companies like these that exploit horrible events. IF we don't draw a line now, we are going to wake up one day literally killing each other in front of the camera for ratings... It already feels like it's starting to happen.
Something should be done about this to shed some light on the subject of the moral fiber in media/arts/film/Video games. To recreate a fictional fantasy of murder/sex/drugs/evil is one thing (and a different subject)... to exploit reality and turn it into sexualized documentaries for a quick buck regardless of the approval of victims and loved ones is another. The dead should have legal representation as well. If they get rid of some of their writers and their producers and brought in some real talent from LA and NY, they would probably have better quality in stories and execution... They are locked in some sort of mechanical way of thinking and producing their work and it shows in reflection of their ethical choices.
WE NEED TO DRAW A LINE HERE!!! PEOPLE SHOULD BE DISGUSTED BY THIS EPISODE! Not just critique it's poor quality in production, but also look at values and core philosophies! It's time to get rid of the real trash that is on TV!!! And 1 of them is Murder Porn.
There could be some taste behind these type of shows... Specifically speaking, with the circumstances behind the production of this episode, and the magnitude it the Jodi Arias story had in the media, I believe better taste behind it's execution and timing of the production could have been better and more professional. Dead people should have a voice too!
This episode not only risks the chance of opening painful wounds of loved ones who might accidentally run into a promo, or an episode while surfing TV, it is also a bad reflection of the people that created it! It already is alienating an audience and creating bad PR for the producers behind it (I personally would have turned down that story if I was their producer.) Also it's an insult and hurtful to the people who did not give a blessing or want to participate in the show! THIS IS NOT JOURNALISM or DOCUMENTARIES! It's the lowest form of investigative media, and there is nothing conclusive about murders getting away with anything and no themes and moral resonation... This show is only meant to make money and entertain! There are better filmmakers out there who have real talent and make REAL INVESTIGATIVE DOCUMENTARIES! We need to have MORAL BACKBONES when going into TRUE "anything."
Also you're innacurate about "who the bleep did I marry." There are two shows. "Who the (bleep)" and "who the (bleep) did I marry)." Who the Bleep is a show that supports your statement. Sadly this one was slated for "Who the Bleep Did I Marry." I mean how else would you call this episode? Who the Bleep was I dating? LAME name if they went that direction!
This episode, and this show shows pure desperation for money and ratings; and is also a sign of how untalented and uncreative the people of this specific production company are! I'm sorry but I'm not going to bend on my beliefs. We need to find some common ground and give victims, the dead, and relatives a final say before we go and exploit everything... once again, these shows hold no real journalistic values, no real investigative tactics, and carry no moral or thematic ends that bring a larger message to the audience! It tmerely mirrors the truth in a sexualized manner... and that to me is immoral in a way if the victims, the dead, and loved ones don't want to participate! I hope they get sued one day and I will be there when it happens!!!
Here is a situation... Imagine your daughter gets raped and brutaly murdered by your husband... and then you get a phone call from a producer offering you money (probably like 1 thousand dollars or something) to recreate the story in a poor fashion, and you told them no; and that you don't support or want the episode made at all! Then they find legal loop holes and make a story about your husbands employer not knowing that the person he hired is a sick rapist pedophile. The employer has no real emotional connection to your daughter and he's only in it for the 15 minutes of fame. THe sanctity of your daughters life and death is now being exploited by a show that has no real value... and will never make it into history. Your dead daughter was used up by the media. How would you feel? (PS I hope this never happens to you, and it sickens me when I hear these stories. Another point that the people behind the camera need to have more sensitivity. This is not normal TV production. I think the world would be ok if this show was taken off from the air)

There are sadly two shows that carry similarities but are not slated the same...
There is the spin off show called "who the bleep" and there's the original called "Who the bleep did I marry"
When producers can't find stories tying to marriage they go to "who the bleep" but in this case of the Jodi Arias story, they couldn't find anything that was a good hook for the "who the bleep" spin off... I mean if they had gone with "Who the bleep" it would have ended as "who the bleep was I dating?" and that is very lame name. In the latter they chose to slate the Jodi Arias episode for "who the bleep did I marry?"
I personally think this is a show of desperation for ratings and money, because no one who actually had any real core emotional connections to Travis Alexander participated in this show. You'll find blogs from some of his real friends and memoir pages that talk about the exploitation of him. This show should be sent back to hell with Jodi!
If the Devil exists we know where his journal entry is. It lives in Silver Spring Maryland by a production company that could care less about your brothers and sisters as long as they make a dollar off of it! They should be ashamed. If you read the history of how that company came to life, you will see that they are now the same monsters they were trying to fight.
Actually nevermind. They werent even dating. Ryan Burns was just fucking her! And she was just using him as a poncey scheme. Ryan Burns should also be ashamed for taking 15 minutes of fame before asking the loved ones of Travis. I did my research about that community. I bet people are already talking bad about him there. (this is all my opinion and I'm not legally liable)
What are you talking about? Ryan Burns testified in the murder trial with what he knew. Why would he be asking Travis Alexander's family members? He said nothing against the victim nor did he have any knowledge of what she had done until after the body was found. In fact, I don't think that he 'took his 15 minutes' of fame as if it were some choice of whether he would testify or not. He had important and valid information to show how Arias used him in an attempt at an alibi.
DEAR GOD NO
DO NOT BUMP THIS THREAD. OH MY GOD WHY....WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. NO.
Since the beast has been bumped and awoken, this is supposedly an excerpt from Nurmi's book according to the state page:
"In this regard, Ms. Arias' previous attorney, being a diligent attorney, collected this information and had it documented in the form of memorandums that were written by Gwen, the woman who, at the time, was working as Ms. Arias' Mitigation Specialist. As a whole these interviews really did not paint a good picture of Ms. Arias, in fact, far from it. The Interviewees, most of whom were either Ms. Arias' friends or family, presumably people who loved her, did not say nice things about her. There were claims that Ms. Arias had abused animals as a child.
As it relates to my client's mother, Sandy Arias, I had several reasons for keeping her off the stand but the biggest was that she was so clearly lying about this issue, lying so poorly that it would have been laughable under other circumstances. Did this surprise me? Not in the least. Sandy Arias was more than willing to lie for her daughter, the only shock came when she did it so poorly on the day she tried to convince me that she saw bruising on Ms. Arias? arms. I asked Sandy if she had ever seen bruising on Ms. Arias? arms. First thing I found funny about this is that I had to ask, the second thing that was funny was that when I asked Sandy it was like a thought bubble went on above her head reading "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell him about seeing bruises, Jodi wanted me to tell him that." Anyway, when I asked her if she saw bruises she said yes. I asked her to describe where on Jodi's arms was this bruising visible? Sandy could ?not remember.? When did she see these bruises? Sandy could ?not remember.? I asked Sandy a few more questions of a similar nature that she also could not answer. Her inability to answer these basic questions, questions that any mother should be able to answer if they saw bruising on their child, along with her body language when I was asking them made it very clear to me that she was not being truthful."
Ma'am, what is hard to explain about a person breathing or not breathing? what is so difficult? why is that a difficult concept for you?
