The search for a San Diego man who went missing in San Francisco last year was re-energized this weekend after a possible sighting last week, a search organizer said Sunday morning.
Crishtian Hughes, 21, was last seen on Feb. 7, 2013, in the 900 block of Capitol Avenue in San Francisco.
His mother, Kim Ne Pote of San Diego, told NBC 7 that her son was staying the night at a friend?s house in San Francisco, but was gone the next morning. Ne Pote hasn?t heard from her son since.
On Thursday, a woman said she saw Hughes on Haight Street in San Francisco, according to Rachel Jackson, founder of PPP Recovery, an organization that is helping the Hughes family with search efforts.
Other tips have since come in prompting search efforts in that area of the city, she said.
A search was held Saturday at 4 p.m., and another search effort was scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday.
The search group met at the McDonald's restaurant at 730 Stanyan St., and volunteers were advised to bring a buddy while searching.
If Hughes is spotted, search organizers advise keeping him in sight, but to not approach him. Rather tips should come in to 911 or 910-627-3244.
Jackson said Hughes is believed to be with a female with blonde hair and he has visible tattoos on his arms.
He is believed to go by his street name "Chris" and have grown his curly hair long, Jackson said. He is described as 5-foot-8 and 130 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and a slender build.
Hughes' mother is concerned about his mental health, Jackson added.
The Haight-Ashbury area is expected to be bustling Sunday for Easter and 4/20 celebrations, which Jackson said is not a hindrance but presents more opportunities to find Hughes.

The part where they said searches were asked to bring a buddy when searching made me giggle. Can you imagine a search group looking for a missing person, only to have someone from the search party end up missing? Talk about an epic fail.
Happy Birthday! I hid a dead body in your backyard to celebrate. Good luck finding it under the cement. You can only use a stick to look for it.
