According to the Nash County Sheriff?s Office, Drake was at home on the morning of May 17, 2013, when her request for a piece of her relative?s cheese was flatly denied. In defense of the relative, Evelyn Johnson, she offered Drake a piece of a different cheese that was also in the refrigerator, but the incident apparently irked Drake enough that she later plotted her revenge, apparently deciding that if she could not enjoy the beloved cheese, any who did would suffer for it.
The next morning Drake poisoned the prized cheese with a combination of Ajax, window cleaner and detergent. Johnson and the family soon came down to breakfast and she prepared it with the adulterated cheese. Johnson only realized that it was tainted after she had served it to her family and four people had eaten it.
Luckily Drake did not do a very good job poisoning the cheese, because the family had only to drink a lot of milk to recover from it. Drake, however, was arrested and faces five counts of attempted murder. She is being held under $50,000 secure bond.
