    Meet baby Hashtag Jameson

Some parents think they're ironic, cool or just a little bit fresh.

Some parents just don't get it.

Without presuming to know why they settled on the particular name Hashtag, we're going out on a limb to presume her parents are of the "just don't get it" parent group.

The beautiful baby girl will forever live with a transient legacy of the Twitter generation, until such time as she can legally change her name to #SomethingNormal.

"Hashtag Jameson was born at 10 oclock last nite," the Facebook post reads.

"She weys 8pounds and I luv her so much."

Hashtag Jameson now joins the honour roll of awks namesies which includes Facebook, Falcon, Thor, Sage Moonblood and Nicki Minaj.

Thor is a common name in Iceland, and countries around so it sounds normal to me. But Hashtag? really?

I bet the makers of Jameson whiskey "luv" this baby too, for being a living advertisement until she is old enough to change her name.

    #Jameson

These parents should be monitored by CPS, heavily.

I love this thread, we have so many hilarious names, when translated to english, for example Gu?r??ur=god fuck, Gu?laug=god lied, lj?tur=ugly, Ketilr??ur = boiling fuck.
And also something about baby hashtag, just to stay on topic!

    Pajamas (pronounced paa-jaa-miss)
Twins lemonjello and orangejello (pronounced Lamahnjalo and orahnjalo)
    neeley (my cousins kid)
sachel (pronounced like rachel, I called her satchel for a long time)
    Sharika (not shakira)

My name isn't a weird name, but it is a hillbilly name. I have been called by my first and middle name my whole life. My first name isn't hillbilly, but my middle name is.

I was named after my paternal gma. My younger bro gave my niece the same middle name. Poor kid, she's six.

I used to belong to a forum for name enthusiasts called "Baby's Named a Bad, Bad Thing." We saw this kind of thing all the time. This is the worst one ever, and yes, it's real. The actual birth announcement was up on the hospital website for years, but I guess it's finally been taken down.

    That's ridiculous! haha

I don't mind my name. It has a nice sound to it, but it's still hillbilly. Not as bad as WTBB, though!

My parents wanted my name to be resume friendly. Ironically I don't have a resume.

But Ronald has a better chance at the job than Trayvon. I think I dodged a bullet on Seymour though. I forget. Or was it Sam? Grandfather's name. Paternal.

So we will be reading about him in about 20 years.

My first name comes from a song. My middle name is from my paternal gma.

I once heard a comedian say that he named his daughter Michelle so that they wouldn't know she was black until she got the interview.

In my line of work, I see lots of new baby names so to me, most of the names listed here are pretty tame. Hashtage is a new one on me and pretty damn bad. I get tired of all the apostrophes people add to their kids' names. WHY?!

The Icelandic names are wack. How in the hell can anything be translated to "boiling fuck"? Is that even a thing? What do people there consider it to mean?

My kids have very basic, traditional names. I think it's important to give a kid a good, solid name that will last them throughout their lifetime. I don't like cutesy, popular names but then again, I've never been one to go with the flow.

Yesterday, my husband sent me a link to a USA Today article about parents looking for the "cool factor" when they name their kids. He asked if we did that. Our one year-old daughter's name is Rebecca. Yeah, that totally screams hipster coolness, right there. Just call her Miles Davis.

My first name is a unisex name and means 'brave.' In Hebrew my middle name means 'bitter' and in French it means 'goddess of spring growth.' This is fun.
