I was wondering the same thing. When Joel added smiting/karma I emailed him that it was only going to cause petty fights. I thought we had enough "Most Popular Member" threads going already. Hmmm... maybe it was to stop those and just display it out as a number. Answering my own questions.

shown by ron and soggy, its not doing as it was planned to. as said, smiting was suppose to be used for rulebreakers. instead these two are insisting on smiting me every chance they get just because they do not like me, and will encourage others to do the same.
speaking of which, the 1 hour limit is way too small and can be abused, as it is with these two. perhaps once a day?
