Jenise Wright. This case was local to me and I thought she was just so cute and hoped she would come home safe. That didn't happen and it will hurt my community forever. It's been nearly three years and her murderer still hasn't gone to trial.

Such a sad story. She was so little - only 6. Stories like these are just unimaginable. I hope the trial happens soon and after the initial stress, it can bring some relief.

I always found Vigilante Killings fascinating mainly because the killers felt they were in the right to stop what they saw was acts of abuse by the victim they killed.

Years and years ago, I read an article on MDS about a young woman who was adopted and then raped and murdered by her adopted brother. But the name is not coming to me at all? That story has stuck with me and I still think about her quite often.

I see horrible deaths all the time in my line of work so the manner of death doesnt usually strike me as much as the actual person. Ive been lurking since 2009, and Corey Craig (suicide by pills and hanging), Sabrina Roberts (girl who appeared on "Made"--death by pulmonary embolism allegedly caused by birth control pills), Kayla Lodes (suicide by gunshot for unknown reasons) and Katie Lynn Coleman (girl with a beautiful singing voice who committed suicide by hanging) have stayed with me over the years. A newer one, Valera Holden (suicide by hanging after bringing a precious baby boy into the world) is probably going to stay with me too.

I don't know if this death was discussed here, but it has stayed with me since I first read about it. A father beat, stomped, kicked, and swung his child into the asphalt on a darkened roadway. The child was beaten so severely that he had to be identified through DNA.
