There are new clues and a new search in the case of a Brevard County woman missing after a diving trip off the coast.

Nicole Cuomo went missing Saturday while spearfishing about 15 miles out to sea.

On Tuesday, searchers found her safety marker and spear gun. The gun was found more than 100 feet under water with nothing around it.
 
Searchers are split on whether that's a good sign or not.

The news of Nicole (Nikki) not surfacing from her dive in Jupiter Inlet (Sept. 22, 2007) was devastating to her family, friends, school and her clients.  However, most of us clung to hope that she would survive. Those of us that knew her well, agreed with an early entry on spearboard.com's "Pray for Nikki" thread. "Nikki has three things in her favor; She's an experienced diver, a good swimmer and a strong spirit. I trust and pray these strengths will serve her well until she's home safely."

You are right. Gosh, she seemed like such a happy spirited person. :( I do agree the unidentified does look like her, sadly. I wonder if dna has been tested.

I agree that the unidentified person does resemble Nicole, and if proper testing has been done.

I feel for her family and friends.  I hope they have the answers they are looking for.  It's so sad.
