Tim Curry -- the legendary film and TV actor best known for playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the cult classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" -- has died ... TMZ has learned.

Sources tell TMZ the actor -- who had been plagued with serious health issues for more than a decade -- passed away late Tuesday night at his Los Angeles home.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... police responded to his house at 11:23 PM Tuesday night. We're told there is no foul play suspected in the case.

Ian Roberts, 24, was last seen at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Friday. Officials said Roseville police received a missing-person report at about 4:45 a.m. Saturday after Roberts had not returned home the previous night.

He was last seen wearing a brown shirt, dark shorts, gray shoes and possibly had a beanie. Roberts is 6 feet tall and weighs 210 pounds. With assistance from Roberts’ family, authorities tracked his vehicle to a skate park in Auburn, where Placer County deputies located it. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team subsequently began searching the surrounding Auburn State Recreation Area.

A large search was set to resume Monday morning for a 24-year-old Roseville man who disappeared after apparently hiking into a Northern California river canyon.

Ian Roberts was last seen at 9:45 a.m. Friday, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators believe Roberts left his vehicle at the skate park at Overlook Park before hiking into the American River Canyon. The park sits on the edge of Auburn, overlooking the canyon, and provides direct access to trails descending into it, less than a mile from Interstate 80.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a mental health advocate who remained missing on Sunday, more than five days after police found the Massachusetts officer she had been married to dead in their home.

Karen Solomon, 58, was last spotted in a doorbell camera video, walking down a street in a T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops early Tuesday morning, just minutes after Worcester police officers responded to a call from the home where Kurt Solomon was found dead.

Worcester police chief Paul Saucier said the warrant charges Karen Solomon with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Saucier said Kurt Solomon, a 31-year-veteran officer, was mortally injured with a sharp object – he wouldn’t say precisely what.

Karen Solomon wrote two books about the physical and psychological experiences of first responders and helped start First Help, an organization that advocates for their mental health. The Solomons shared a home and had been married, court records indicated – but authorities declined to discuss their current relationship, citing domestic violence privacy rules.

A Pennsylvania teenager fatally stabbed his girlfriend, a college soccer player, then enlisted his mother’s help to clean up the crime scene and move the victim’s body, police said Thursday.

Karoline Heintz, a freshman defender at Division II PennWest California, was found dead in the back of a Jeep Cherokee at about 12:24 a.m. Thursday near the California Public Library, roughly 35 miles south of downtown Pittsburgh, officials said.

Investigators believe that hours earlier Heintz had “met with her boyfriend, Royce Moser, outside his father’s residence in North Strabane to talk,” according to a statement from Pennsylvania State Police.

Moser, 18, got angry, went inside the house, grabbed a large kitchen knife and stabbed Heintz to death in the chest, according to police.

“We believe it (the murder) was originally the result of a domestic situation,” Washington County District Attorney Jason Walsh told reporters.

The suspect then put her body in the Jeep’s rear hatch and drove to his mother’s residence in Beallsville, police said.

There, Rachel Moser wiped down the Jeep with cleaning sprays and gave her son latex gloves, instructing him to follow her to the university, according to police. The two then “left the Jeep Cherokee near the California Public Library with Karoline Heintz still inside,” police said.

Rachel Moser drove her son back to her home, where he cleaned his clothes and showered, police said.

The criminal complaint said Rachel Moser told her son to "take a bath and then shower" and change his clothes. She also allegedly put the knife in a garbage bag and washed her son's clothes.

Police said the woman tried to clean the Jeep with disinfectant spray and gave her son latex gloves to wear as they drove around.

Royce Moser told investigators that he got angry after something Heintz said to him during their conversation in her Jeep, but he could not remember what exactly it was, according to the criminal complaint.

He then said he had a "demon take over," telling him to stab his girlfriend, according to the criminal complaint. The court document also stated that Rachel Moser told police that her son told her he had "demons" telling him to hurt his girlfriend.

According to the criminal complaint, Royce Moser told Heintz, "Wait, I have something for you" during their talk outside his father's home before going and getting the knife and stabbing her.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Haden was found dead in a federal building in San Diego on Wednesday, Aug. 19, shortly after being reported missing. He was 48.

The San Diego Police Department received a report of a missing man on Wednesday evening and found him dead in an office at 880 Front St. shortly afterward, a police spokesperson told the Los Angeles Times.

The address, in downtown San Diego, is that of the Edward J. Schwartz federal building, which houses the U.S. Attorney's Office, reported The Times of San Diego.

Police told the L.A. Times that no foul play is suspected. The Medical Examiner will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Metro Nashville Police are searching for a Colorado man who was last seen early Sunday morning in East Nashville.

Conor Anderson, 31, flew to Nashville Saturday for a work conference and checked into the Millennium Maxwell House hotel, police said.

At about 1 a.m. Sunday, Anderson flagged down two East Precinct officers near Woodland and Main streets. He told officers he had given two unknown men $20 to show him around the area, but the men walked away with the cash.

Police said Anderson did not want to provide his driver’s license to make a formal report. Officers encouraged him to use a rideshare to return to his hotel, and he agreed.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and checking Anderson’s phone and bank records as they work to locate him.

Hayden Panettiere, the star of popular TV series including Heroes and Nashville, has died at age 36.

Panettiere's father, Skip, announced the actor's death in a statement provided to ABC News on Sunday. "It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen," his statement said.

The cause of death has not yet been announced. Her publicist, Kasey Kitchen, told NBC News, "There's an investigation ongoing. We should know more tomorrow."

Police in Greenville, S.C., said in a statement that officers "accompanied by EMS personnel, responded to a report of an unresponsive female" at about 1:50 p.m. on Sunday.

The statement added, "Upon arrival, medical assistance was administered; however, the individual, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, was pronounced deceased at the scene."

An East Coast family said they’re desperate to find their family member, 63-year-old Alisa Goods, who was reported missing on August 10. The family later received text messages from her phone, asking for payment in Bitcoin.

The family provided 8 News Now with a copy of the missing person report filed with Metro Police, which stated she was last seen on August 8 leaving her friend’s apartment near Maryland and Tropicana to pick up iron pills at the CVS along Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue.

According to her family, Goods was staying with her friend Roger John in Las Vegas.

John told 8 News Now he’s known Goods for nine years and would often let her stay at his place whenever she visited Las Vegas. He said this was her second trip this year.

“It’s just sad because she’s the nicest person you would meet,” John said.

John said he last spoke to her when she left his apartment around 12:45 p.m. on August 8 when she left to catch the bus

“Last I saw her, she was going down the stairs. And I said, ‘OK, see you later,’ And that’s the last time I saw her. I went out after her, about 15 minutes after her. And I came back home about two, three hours later, and then she wasn’t home,” John said. “And I was like, ‘she should have been home already.’ I didn’t think much of it, because sometimes she’d go out and she’d shop, she stays out. And I kept texting and calling and texting and calling.”

Both John and Goods’ family said her cell phone appeared to be disconnected, unable to receive calls or texts.

On August 12, the family began receiving text messages from her phone, but are suspicious about who is sending them.

“I said, ‘Hey, could you call me back? Something happened to mommy. It’s an emergency.’ And I kind of went on and on trying to get the person to actually call me. But they kept putting it off and saying, ‘now my card’s not working,'” Calloway said.

Calloway said the person on the other end of the phone said they were having issues with their credit cards and were at the gas station. Calloway said it was suspicious because her aunt did not have a car while visiting Las Vegas. Calloway continued trying to quiz the person on the other end of the phone to see if it was really her aunt.

“I said, ‘Well, okay, I can send you money for gas. How much do you want me to send you?'” Calloway said. “Then they wanted the Bitcoin. And then I said, ‘Well, hold on. Let me get Kelly to help.’ We have nobody in our family named Kelly.”

Calloway said if her aunt was really on the other line, she would have asked who Kelly was.

“That was alarming,” Calloway said. “Every time the person texts back, it just felt like my heart was in my stomach because I knew it wasn’t my aunt.”

Calloway said she passed it over to Goods’ son, her cousin Keven Newton, who also began receiving weird texts asking for money.

Jason Arday, the former University of Cambridge professor at the centre of a plagiarism row, has been found dead.

Emergency services said a man was found "unresponsive" at an address in Battersea, south London, on Friday afternoon.

Arday resigned as a Cambridge professor of sociology of education last week after allegations of plagiarism and questions about some of his achievements. He had denied the claims.

They added: "The campaign of misinformation was too much for Jason, who was a gentle man and who always wanted to see the best in everyone."

Earlier on Friday, police officers were called to an address in Battersea by the London Ambulance Service.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: "At this time his death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious."

Arday, 41, had denied any plagiarism - but admitted errors in his work - and last week said the recent controversy about his work had led to "an unrelenting level of public scrutiny and personal attack".

The row first erupted after another academic - self-defined "race realist" Nathan Cofnas, who was sacked from his Cambridge role in 2024 - said he found numerous instances of plagiarism in the professor's work.

Arday said some errors in his early academic work arose because of his autism, as he relied on using mimicry to make sense of information. Similar scrutiny would find similar errors in work by other academics, he said.

"We're talking about academia here. I didn't murder somebody. I think the cruelty that I've experienced and the positioning of me as this kind of liar and fantasist is totally unacceptable," he told the Times newspaper earlier this month.

Arday's appointment as Cambridge's youngest ever black professor at the age of 37 in 2023 was hailed at the time as a progressive moment.

Announcing his resignation last week, Arday said the "personal cost" of the scrutiny of him had become "too great".

Cambridge initially said claims of plagiarism regarding Arday's thesis and some journal publications had been investigated by Liverpool John Moores University (LMJU) and the journals in question.

LJMU - which awarded Arday his PhD in 2015 - concluded that he had not plagiarised work.

Earlier this week, Cambridge announced an independent investigation into his appointment.

In a letter to university staff at the time, Prof Prentice said: "I fully understand the concerns being raised across the university and well beyond it, regarding Jason Arday's appointment and I share them...

"That investigation, as you say, should be thorough and transparent, and will be carried out independently by senior academics from within and beyond Cambridge."

Jolyon Maugham from campaign group Good Law Project said Arday's death was "a tragedy".

"I do not understand what the public interest was in continuing to hound him after he resigned as a professor and I do not understand what risk assessments media outlets did", Maugham added.

Arday originally worked as a PE teacher before earning his doctorate at LMJU and going on to become an associate professor at Durham University and professor of sociology of education at the University of Glasgow.

Glasgow university also announced a review into Arday's previous academic work.

Last weekend, Arday cancelled an event promoting his memoir.

Publisher Simon & Schuster previously said that the book, Great And Unfortunate Things, would be published in the UK on 27 August. It was released in the US earlier this week.

The book tells the story of his life from being non-verbal until the age of 11 and unable to read or write until 18, then going through a series of "improbable triumphs and heartbreaking setbacks", before being appointed professor of sociology of education at Cambridge.

All That alum Christy Knowings has died at the age of 46, according to a report.

TMZ reported on Thursday, Aug. 13, citing an unnamed family member, that Knowings had an asthma attack and was hospitalized on Friday, Aug. 7. She was put on life support at a Los Angeles-area hospital, her family member told the outlet, before she died on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Knowings starred in over 30 episodes of Nickelodeon’s All That, starting in 1997. She made her final appearance on the sketch comedy show in 1999.

She also appeared in the 2009 film Mother and Child, and has a writing credit on the film. Her most recent credits were three appearances on Sesame Street, ranging from 2009 to 2011.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder after his mother and teenage brother were found dead inside their Acton, Massachusetts, home, with authorities also revealing alleged ChatGPT searches about killing family members.

Arjun Aravind, 17, is facing two counts of murder and two counts of assault and battery on household or family members. The charges stem from the deaths of his mother, Sudha Venkatesan, 45, and his 14-year-old brother, Siddharth Aravind.

According to Ryan, the investigation found that Arjun had recently shown concerning behavior. This allegedly included using the internet and ChatGPT to search for “theoretical ideas or fantasies regarding killing his family.”

“It is alleged that Arjun fatally assaulted his mother and brother inside their home yesterday before fleeing the scene,” Ryan said in the news release.

Authorities believe Arjun left the home in his mother’s 2014 green Honda Accord. Police later issued an alert for him after they were unable to locate him.

He was found Wednesday morning on Andrew Avenue while officers were responding to an unrelated alarm call.

The Chief Medical Examiner will determine the exact causes of death. Authorities said both victims had suffered some level of trauma and are investigating what type of weapon may have been involved.

In addition to the murder and assault charges, Arjun is facing charges of using a vehicle without authority and theft of a motor vehicle.
