MISHAWAKA - Christian Alexander Turner, 20, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016.
Christian was born on June 4, 1995, in South Bend, to William and Tina (Legg) Turner. Surviving are his mother, Tina Turner of Mishawaka; father, William Turner of Mishawaka; grandparents, Karen Turner, and Arthur and Vickie Schmeltz, all of Mishawaka; his chosen family of friends, Jessie Britton, Emily Schmeltz, Gavin Beheyt, Cameron Beheyt, Sierra Mills, Austin Mack and Hannah Paradine.
Christian was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dwight L. Legg and William E. Turner Sr.
Christian's day started and never stopped with a constant flow of music. Since an early age he taught himself to play multiple instruments and made beautiful songs about his life, family and friends.
His professional life was filled with a loving family of co-workers. At Barnes and Noble he enjoyed browsing the books and drinking coffee. His favorite summer job was working with his second family the Faulkner's and his group of BK girls at the BK Root Beer Stand.
Most recently he enjoyed running for miles to calm the storm within. Another outdoor passion included kayaking on the St. Joseph River.
Most of all he found immense pleasure in spending time with his family and friends who he loved with all his heart.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 2, at 3 p.m. with visitation from 1 to 3, p.m., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with Pastor Dave Honeycutt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Institute of Mental Health Gift Fund, 6001 Executive Blvd., Room 6101, MSC 9655, Bethesda, MD 20892-9655.
