The Oklahoma Highway Patrol on Tuesday released dash-cam footage showing a trooper crashing into a suspect's pickup during a highway pursuit, resulting in the man's death after he was ejected from the vehicle.
The footage shows trooper Jonathan Earls pursuing 44-year-old Alexander Larmon of Sapulpa eastbound on Interstate 40 about 70 miles southwest of Tulsa in the early-morning hours of May 8. The high-speed chase ended near Cromwell when Earls used a "tactical vehicle intervention" on Larmon's pickup, causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway and roll several times, coming to a rest on its top.
Larmon was ejected about 10 feet from the vehicle, and troopers can be seen in the video searching a field covered in thick grass for the man. Eventually, a trooper who is off-screen is heard saying Larmon's body was found.
