A man who died in a Thursday morning house fire was likely killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

Fire crews were called to 875 West N. Ave. at 3:20 a.m. Thursday. Officials say Adam William Blazek, 36, was killed in the fire.

Preliminary autopsy results indicate Blazek died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a Nevada police news release issued Thursday afternoon.

Nevada Police Chief Ricardo Martinez II said the fire seemed suspicious because it started in two locations, the living room area and the basement, where the body was found.

Blazek was alone at the time, and it doesn't appear anyone else played a role in starting the fire, Martinez said.

Martinez said Blazek had a wife and children. Family in Nevada have been notified of Blazek's death.

Tim Klinefelter, who lives across the street from the burned home, said he believed Blazek and his family lived there for several years.

"He was out blowing snow just the other day," Klinefelter recalled.

Firefighters from Colo and Cambridge assisted the Nevada Fire Department in putting out the fire.
