The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and DeKalb County Coroner's office have determined that the manner of death of Steven Schulz was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Steven Schulz (22) of DeKalb was reported missing on the evening of July 7th, 2014 to the DeKalb City Police. His vehicle was located on Monday, July 8th north of Rout 72, on Annie Glidden Road in the area of the bridge that crosses over the Kishwaukee River.

Steven's body was located at 1:08pm July 9th, after an extensive search by several agencies in the Kishwaukee River in the vicinity where his vehicle had been located.

The investigation into Steven's death has been on going, and after examining all the investigative reports, and evidence including the autopsy and toxicology reports it has been determined by the Sheriff's Office, as well as of the Coroner's office that the manner of death is due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
