Kelsey Elizabeth Chasteen, 15, of Thorntown, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at her home. Kelsey was born July 29, 1998, in Clinton County, a daughter of the now late Dustin Chasteen and Lori Fairfield. Her mother survives.
Kelsey was a student at Western Boone High School. She was involved in cheerleading, dancing, tennis and loved listening to music.
Survivors include her mother, Lori, and stepdad, Darin Sherfey; brother, Tyler Dustin Chasteen; half brothers and sisters, Neven Chasteen, Jazmine Chasteen and Tori McKinney; grandparents, Karen Chasteen and Paul (Joan) Chasteen of Jacksonville, Fla., Elizabeth Fairfield of Fayette, Ohio, and James (Shirley) Fairfield of Lebanon; aunts, Brandy (Matthew) Schons and Cassie (Shad) Mantooth of Jacksonville, Fla., and Angie Fairfield of Fayette, Ohio; and cousins, Kylie Fairfield, Jayden Fairfield, Jackie Chasteen, Michael Schons, Kayla Mantooth, Karen Mantooth and Kelly Mantooth.
She was preceded in death by her father and an uncle, Randy Fairfield.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, Feb. 1, for visitation from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. at Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, with the Rev. Bud Moody officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
