The missing soldier from Joint Base Lewis McChord who was found dead in Capitol Forest Tuesday was the nephew of two victims of the Oso landslide, a fellow JBLM soldier told KING 5.

The Thurston County Sheriff's Dept. said Specialist Christopher Dombroski, 20, died of a gunshot wound that was not accidental or the result of foul play.

Dombroski was the nephew of Steve and Theresa Harris, who are listed among the missing in the landslide. The soldier said Dombroski had recently taken several days off to search for his aunt and uncle in the debris. He was also recently engaged.
The Sheriff's Office said Dombroski was on a hiking trip in Capitol Forest. He was last heard from at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
On Monday, members of his unit from JBLM joined the search. Dombroski's motorcycle was found on a spur road near Capitol Peak.
Thurston County Search and Rescue found Dombroski's body on Tuesday.
The Gray's Harbor County Sheriff's Office will take over the investigation.
The US Army said Dombroski was a Stryker systems maintainer. He entered military service in August 2011 and attended Advance Individual Training in Military Occupational Specialty 91S (Stryker Systems Maintainer) at Fort Lee, Va. He served on one overseas deployment to Afghanistan from November 2012 to July 2013.
