Spencer Keeton Young, 24, of Birmingham, passed away December 15, 2011. He attended Vestavia High School & graduated from Cahaba School. He also attended Caldwell Community College in Boone, NC. Spencer was preceded in death by his grandparents: James E. Sparks, Rebecca Y. Young & Gerald L. Young, Sr. Spencer is survived by his mother, Deborah S. Young; father, Gerald L. Young, Jr. (Ruth); sister, Elizabeth Y. Young, half-brothers, Gerald L. Young, III (Julie) & Gregory B. Young (Barbara), step-sister, Beth L. Kelly (Chuck) & step-brother Brett Vaughan. He is also survived by aunts & uncles: Susan S. Thames (Roy), Vicki Y. Carrillo (Andy) & Cynthia Young Rivas (Esteban), along with many cousins, nephews, & nieces. A celebration of Spencer's life will be held Monday, December 19 at 5:30 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4300 Hampton Heights Drive, Birmingham. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Spencer's memory to The Foundry Recovery Center, P.O. Box 824, Bessemer, AL 35021. >
