Reed A. Dehler, 22, of Westerly, RI, died on August 8th of an accidental drug overdose. He was born June 7, 1989 in Putnam, son to Kelly L. Collins-Rego of Canterbury and Blake A. Dehler of Pomfret. Reed worked with mentally challenged adults at CW Resources in Gales Ferry, CT, a job he truly loved. Reed was a talented athlete in school, a great writer and above all, an amazing musician. He was a great friend and liked to spend time with them all. He will be sorely missed by all of the people he has touched in his short life. Reed is survived by his parents, stepparents; Lisa Dehler of Pomfret and David Rego of Canterbury; grandparents Linda Armstrong of Plainfield and James and Donna Collins of West Haven; a great grandmother Loretta Atlas of Florida; paternal grandfather, Larry Dehler of Baltic; a sister, Jamie Rego, with whom he shared a special relationship; several step-siblings Alexis, Courtney, Colton, and Alexander; best friend Emmanuel (Mike) Thresher; his aunts, uncles and cousins as well. He is predeceased by a step grandfather Thomas Armstrong of Canterbury. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday August 12, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. with calling hours prior from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT.
