A 17-year-old Butte High School student has died of a drug overdose and a 48-year-old man suspected of supplying the narcotics has been charged.

Police say they were called to a residence just before 4 a.m. Friday after someone reported an unconscious boy. He was taken to the hospital, where he died of a drug overdose.

Scott Wombolt of Butte was arrested Friday evening and is charged with three felony counts of distribution of dangerous drugs to a minor. Justice of the Peace Dan Sweeney set bail at $150,000 Monday.

Butte-Silver Bow County Sheriff John Walsh says Wombolt is suspected of supplying the teen with some kind of narcotic on Thursday evening.
