The victims in a double homicide at a Metairie motel on Veterans Memorial Boulevard have been identified as 29-year-old Derrell Joseph Bradley of New Orleans and 27-year-old Wentrell C. Fletcher of Marrero.

Bradley was found Wednesday afternoon lying in the rear parking lot of the La Quinta Inn in the 5900 block of Veterans near a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe with the engine running. Fletcher's body was found slumped over the console in the driver's seat of the Tahoe, which is owned by her friend, said Col. John Fortunato, a spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.


Bradley and Fletcher were shot multiple times and died at the scene.

Investigators believe Bradley was sitting in the front passenger seat prior to the shooting.

Deputies received reports about 230 p.m. Wednesday of gunfire at the inn. Guests said they heard at least eight shots fired. Investigators found 9mm casings at the scene.

Investigators so far have no motive, Fortunato said.
