Theo Smalling, the basketball player for the Hampton University team suffered severe injury after he was shot on 24th October morning. It was the 22nd birthday of the player and his team was quite upset after learning the news of his injury. Official sources reported that he was shot accidentally and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Spokesperson for the Hampton University team Yuri Rodgers Milligan on Sunday night issued a statement for the media in which she stated that Smalling's condition was critical. Theo Smalling was the forward player of the team and was also the captain of the team. He was one of the senior players and had made several contributions for the team.

As stated by the sources, the person who had fired the shot did not handle the gun properly and it was an accident. Police had found injured Smalling near the West Mercury Boulevard. After police started to investigate the case, Dominique Smith, was charged for handling the gun recklessly. Theo Smalling would not have to suffer from this fatal injury if he had handled the gun carefully.

Theo Smalling was in a serious condition on 25th October, Sunday. However, some of the media reports declared that the young basketball player could not survive this injury and died at the hospital.
