Family and friends are mourning the loss of Lemont High School senior Jonathan Bielski, who died Sunday, March 1, of an apparent drug overdose.

Lemont police received a call of an unresponsive person at about 6:15 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Timberline Drive, said police Cmdr. Dan Tully. The person was later identified as 17-year-old Bielski.

The Will County Coroner's Office said an official autopsy report is on hold, pending toxicology and lab results, which could take between six and eight weeks.

"The Lemont High School community is deeply saddened by the passing of Jonathan Bielski, and extends its sympathy and support to his family during this difficult time," said Lemont High School

District 210 Superintendent Sandra Doebert in a release.
Counselors have been made available to the high school students to talk to teens about Bielski's death.

Bielski, who lived on Logan Street in Lemont, enjoyed rollerblading, snowboarding, basketball, four-wheel off-roading and fishing with his uncle, according to his obituary.

Visitation was scheduled for Thursday, March 5, at Markiewicz Funeral Home in Lemont. His funeral is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 6, at Markiewicz Funeral Home, 108 Illinois St. A service will follow at 11 a.m. at Calvary Church, 1375 State St., Lemont.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.

Bielski was preceded in death by his brother, Jeremy Bielski.

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Tracy Hoover and Thomas and Sheri Bielski; his brother, Jason Bielski; and several great-grand mothers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles and cousins.
