Rebekah Leighann Lawson,of Mesquite. Born February 11, 1988 in Dallas and passed away May 16, 2004 in Mesquite. Rebekah was a bright young lady loved by everyone. She was active in her church, school and theater. She was a staff sergeant in the ROTC at Mesquite High and had just became a member of the All Star Drill Team for the 2004-05 school year. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles Lawson. Survived by mother & step-father, Wanda & Steve Djerf; sisters: Stephanie Djerf & Emmalee Djerf; stepbrother, Christopher Djerf; grandparents, Charles & Elizabeth Smith; grandmother, Diana Lawson; great-grandmothers, Henrietta Whelan, Irene Lawson & Ruth Smith; uncle, Charles Lawson, Jr.; numerous cousins, other family members and friends. Visitation is 12-9p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at the funeral home with the family receiving friends 6-8p.m. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at the Galloway Avenue Baptist Church, 19330 N. Galloway Ave. Mesquite, TX 75149, with Rev. Eric Hankins officiating. Any memorials may be sent to the Galloway Avenue Baptist Youth Department at the above address.
