Dear Friend,
I will be joining with thousands of people nationwide this fall to walk in AFSP's 2008 Out of the Darkness Community Walks to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
We had a tremendous turnout for the September walk in LA and would like to make the Orange County walk on October 18th just as successful.
Our Team fundraising goal is $2,000
I would appreciate any support that you give me for this worthwhile cause.
The recent loss of my brother has really affected the lives of those who loved him. We would greatly appreciate your support in this great cause. Ryan was an amazing young man who touched the lives of many people. He will be loved and missed always.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 32,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.
I hope you will consider supporting my participation in this event. Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation please search for my name on www. outofthedarkness. org and the click 'support this participant'. If you would rather donate by check please make the check out to AFSP and mail it in with the offline donation form.
I would also like to invite you to join our team 'In Loving Memory of Ryan Paul Lanaghan."
To join just go to www. outofthedarkness. org and look up the team name.
Thank you for considering this request for your support. If you have any questions about the Out of the Darkness Community Walks or AFSP do not hesitate to contact me or visit

Blog from a friend:
I am still thinking about Ryan Lanaghan. Some of you may or may not know, Ryan took his own life earlier this month. Im still in shock. I grew up with the Lanaghans. They were a huge part of my childhood. Ive been praying God keep their family strong and their minds eased. As we are getting older, so is everyone else. Its sad to think of Ryan, 18 years old when he died but Ill always remember him as that little boy. Lanaghans, Sesmas, Phillips and all those who knew Ryan or the Family...we've been praying for you.
