HOLLAND, Mark L., 56, a lifelong resident of Tampa, died November 4, 2007. Mark was born April 27, 1951, in Tampa, attended Tampa Heights Christian Academy and graduated from Hillsborough Adult High School in 1970. He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserve 1971-1973. Mark' s passion was music and was considered a music historian by many. He was owner and proprietor of Gram' s Place, a bed and breakfast/hostel located in Tampa Heights. Gram' s Place was world renowned as a refugee for musicians, actors and music lovers. He was preceded in death by his father, Capt. James R. Holland. He is survived by his mother, Olive R. Holland; his brothers, J.W. and Bruce Holland; his nephews, Bruce Jr., James and Hampton Holland; his nieces, Mary Holland Cole and Michelle Holland; his great-nephew, Bruce Holland III; and three great-nieces, Geneva, Colleen and Victoria. Mark lived life on his terms and will be remembered by family and by friends as an unpretentious, unique and special person who enjoyed the special relationship he had with his guests and many close friends. We will miss him dearly. A memorial service will take place in his honor at 2 p.m. December 1, 2007, at Plymouth Park, next to Gram' s Place.
