Bucky DeWayne Nichols, left this world on January 1, 2008, surrounded by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. A.C. Painter and Bro. Russell Crosby officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Levita Cemetery.

Bucky was born June 5, 1989 in Gatesville, TX , the baby of the family. He was a Christian, believing in Jesus Christ at an early age. He went to Gatesville ISD and completed his High School education in June 2007. His first job was at Dyer's Restaurant, but for the past 3 years worked for T-Rock Electric with his brother Rocky. He enjoyed his work and was proud to work for his brother. Bucky had so many friends. He loved music, hanging out with his family and friends, riding anything that went fast and furious, and of course girls, girls, girls! Bucky went to Little Rock, Ark. to complete training for the National Guard. He graduated 1st in his class of 184. He was to leave for Ft. Benning, GA on January 15. He was preceded in death by uncles, Larry Cooper & David Patterson, and his Granddaddy Wiley Dean Nichols.

Survivors include his mother, Lonna Burke and husband Brett; father Davy Zell Nichols; brothers, Lance Nichols, Davy Dean Nichols and wife Mindy, Rocky Zell Nichols and wife Heather; a niece, Alyvia Nichols; nephews, Layden Blaine Nichols, Quade Nichols, Blayson Nichols; grandparents Minnie Mae Curry, Christine & Ralph Patterson, Hazel Nichols, Richard & LaRue Pafford; aunts, Donna Watts & husband Wayne, Alice Tippit & husband Dale, Lisa McCutcheon & husband Earnest, Sherry Nichols, Marsey Rauschenberg & husband Bryan; uncles, Wiley Nichols & wife Sherry, Billy Burke & wife Susan, Tony Burke & wife Melinda, Steven Nichols, and Jeremy Pafford; numerous cousins and friends.

Bucky, your mom and Brett love you and miss you sorely. Your brother Lance has lost not only his brother, but the best friend he'll ever have. You're the One, from your brother Rocky. Bucky, I don't have the words, your brother Davy Dean. You are greatly missed.
