Let me begin by thanking everyone for coming today. This is a very trying time for the Iannuzzi family and those of us who cared about Michael. Your attendance here today reminds us all that Michael was loved and will be missed tremendously. A little less than 6 years ago, I stood before many of you as we said good-bye to my father. Today, I stand before you as we say good-bye to a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, a grandson and a dear friend. I have been asked to say a few words on behalf of family members and friends as we remember Michael and remind ourselves how fragile life is. I can assure you that this is the most difficult thing I have had to do in my young life. It is not easy to say good-bye to someone you love, someone who has been such a prevalent part of your life, of all our lives. But we must remember that today we are only saying good-bye to Michael in the physical sense. His spirit, his demeanor, his smile, his memory must live on in all of us.
