An autopsy was to be performed today on Portage Central High School teenager Vincent Roodbeen.

Police said they responded to a call from the teen's Portage home Saturday morning that he was unresponsive.

''We find nothing suspicious,'' Portage Police Department Lt. Don Butler said.

Police planned to release more information later today, said Butler, who declined to comment further.

Roodbeen was one of three boys who survived a car crash in August 2006 in Texas Township in which three boys were killed. A driver, Alan Goodwin, was found to be at fault in the accident and was sentenced in May to 16 to 24 months in prison.

A funeral for Roodbeen was planned for 1 p.m. Thursday at Life Story Funeral Homes, 5975 Lovers Lane, Portage. Visitation is set for 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the same location.

Crisis teams were in place this morning at Portage Central High School, Principal Eric Alburtus said.

''It's obviously a really difficult morning, but we're doing the best we can as far as focusing the attention on the kids who need it most,'' he said. ''It just leaves you numb.''

From an email: Vince died in the early hours of December 1st, 2007. This death was caused by an accidental Xanex overdose. Vince was a senior in high school and will be very deeply and sincerly missed.
