Jody Cordell McDurmitt passed away in Lubbock, Texas, on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007. He was born Jan. 17, 1985, in San Angelo, Texas. He had a mischievous grin and a sparkle in his blue eyes like no other. He graduated from Monterrey High School in Lubbock in 2003.

He married Jessica Kitchens on July 28, 2007. From this union he became the proud stepfather to Breanna, Bryson, Braden and Brittany.

Others left to cherish his memory are his parents, Damon and Donna McDurmitt of Lubbock, Texas; his beloved sister, Jennifer McDurmitt of Lubbock, Texas; his Paw-paw, Jack McDurmitt of San Angelo; his aunt and her husband, Diane and Eli Lopez; his uncle and his wife, David and Lynnette McDurmitt; his niece, Emily McDurmitt; and a host of friends.

Those waiting to welcome him home were his Grandma and Grandpa, Louis and Nancy Fry; and his Maw-maw, Mollie McDurmitt.

The family will be at 3910 Driftwood St.

He was always our angel with no halo and one wing in the fire. We love you, Jody.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, in Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Johnson''s Funeral Home.
