ROZZELLE Dawayne Joel Amos Rozzelle Was a Specialist 4 with US Army Served two years in Iraq, 22 Dawayne Joel Amos Rozzelle, 22, of Fort Lewis, Wash., formerly of Kearny, died Feb. 13, 2007, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Relatives and friends may call at the Wilfred Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr., Kearny, on Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, Kearny. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., Mr. Rozzelle lived in Kearny before being deployed to Iraq two years ago. He was a Specialist 4 in the United States Army for the past three years. Mr. Rozzelle was a member of the Kearny High School wrestling team, football team and track and field. He was the 2002 Watchung Conference Champion, 145 lbs. weight class. He was a published poet, loved martial arts and was a volunteer for Kearny Recreation, Franklin School and the Kearny High School Sports Program. Mr. Rozzelle was the husband of Jemima Jacques-Amos Rozzelle; son of Arthur Jr. and Irma Rozzelle and Leatrina Amos; grandson of Arthur Sr., Betty Rozzelle, Eloise Amos and Irma and Modesto Olivera and brother of Nathaniel, Arthur, Michael, Jajnay, Jeffery and Jenesis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kearny Recreation Department, c/o the funeral home.
