Go by the evidence, not by emotion. Evidence doesn't lie, but people do. Also, I think when weighing testimonies you look at who would have the most to gain by lying - Jodi, of course. The car rental guy would have nothing to gain by saying her hair was blonde. The cop would have nothing to gain by saying the robbery looked staged. The other cop would have nothing to gain by saying her license plates were upside down. The various forensics individuals brought in also have nothing to gain. Lisa and Mimi have nothing to gain. They have little or no motivation to lie. However, Jodi has every reason to lie - her life is on the line. It's a "LIE OR DIE" position she is in.
These are all things which make her testimony highly suspect!

Jean Harris brought a gun with her. She entered his home and confronted him and the other woman. She shot and killed Dr. Tarnower. At her trial in 1980, Jean Harris claimed that it was her intention to confront Tarnower and kill herself with the gun in front of him. She then went on to say that when she pulled out the gun to kill herself, Tarnower tried to stop her and in the struggle, the gun went off and Tarnower was shot and killed.
The jury didn't believe her. Harris did a lot of years in prison.
