Standard northern...warm summers, cold winters, frequent snow.
Hot, Hot, hot! And humid (think Florida)
Standard Southern...Hot summers, cool winters, little to no snow
Moderately warm, lots of rain (Pacific Northwest).
Desert...keep it warm with little rain.

I'm sorry. Do you have to shovel anything when it snows? Sidewalks, driveways, dogpaths, decks?
I am the world's biggest wuss when it comes to snow. It's beautiful on TV and in movies, but I don't want to be anywhere near it. Winter clothes make me feel claustrophobic. I hated living through the Snowpocalypse that crippled WashDC in 2010(?) and then another one a year or two later. It strengthened our resolve to follow the sun once we retired, so we could drive slow in the fast lane and bug the crap out of the young whippersnappers in Florida. We're thinking about getting an RV bigger than an Amtrak sleeper-car and traveling on the interstate during rush hour.

OK, don't yell at me because I don't deal with snow and when I had to in the past, I always paid someone else to do it, but..... Why do you shovel snow before the snow has stopped falling? I'm sure there's a logical explanation, but this doesn't make sense to me, just do it once, no? Especially a long-arse walk like that one.

Bread and water is what people rush on here when the weather is supposed to be bad.
10-12 inches...that's a LOT of snow! I would have to hibernate if I lived there!
We had a really bad thunderstorm here this morning, and are expecting more this evening. I think we got like 3 inches of rain this morning. It's feast or famine.
