It strengthened our resolve to follow the sun once we retired, so we could drive slow in the fast lane and bug the crap out of the young whippersnappers in Florida. We're thinking about getting an RV bigger than an Amtrak sleeper-car and traveling on the interstate during rush hour.

OK, don't yell at me because I don't deal with snow and when I had to in the past, I always paid someone else to do it, but..... Why do you shovel snow before the snow has stopped falling? I'm sure there's a logical explanation, but this doesn't make sense to me, just do it once, no? Especially a long-arse walk like that one.

two schools of thought on that one. If you shovel early and often you don't have as much chance injuring yourself trying to toss heavy snow. If you wait you only have to do it once, and then again when the road crew plows you in...

Also, you shovel early because once it starts to melt you don't have to worry about ice on your driveway. Then you don't have to go

I'm sick of shoveling the shit, and my husband is too lazy to do it, so we just drive through the stuff.

You guys are the experts, all of the above makes perfect sense; but I think I will stick to moderate climates.

So Monday it's supposed to snow like 10-12 inches. My husband is at the store and there was no milk left

Bread and water is what people rush on here when the weather is supposed to be bad.

10-12 inches...that's a LOT of snow! I would have to hibernate if I lived there!

We had a really bad thunderstorm here this morning, and are expecting more this evening. I think we got like 3 inches of rain this morning. It's feast or famine.
