oh my goodness! So cute!
My foster dog may have a home. He has been with us since September and had to have major surgery, so he didn't get listed for adoption until just over a month ago, after he healed. I am excited for him, but a little sad too. My youngest dog is going to be heartbroken...they are BFF's. I don't need a 3rd dog though. I hope he gets an amazing home-he deserves it!
So he IS getting adopted. It's a different family, and they are also adopting a female from the same rescue. I think that will be good for him, because he loves my girls. He is leaving this weekend. I am more sad than I thought I would be. I don't want to keep him, but I worry about him and also about my girl that loves him so much. I hope he has a wonderful life!
I hear that from a lot of people, but honestly I just had the mindset when he came to us that he wasn't staying. I will definitely miss him, but I've always just looked at us as a place-keeper until he gets to his actual life. I am excited for him and his new family, and that has made it easier.
The two fosters I have had this year took about 6 weeks to get adopted once they were up for adoption (Jax was with us another 6 weeks before that because he had to get surgery and recover before he could be put up for adoption) so overall it's a pretty quick process, but without fosters the rescues can't do much. You should think about it. When you see them with their forever family it really makes you feel like you changed a life.
I just got asked if I could foster for another rescue. I think my house might become a revolving door for dogs. Not 100% sure if they need me to, waiting to see if the dog gets adopted outright or needs to be rescued.
She's just having fun! I can't believe how big she's gotten!
So I am picking up another foster tomorrow. Not the one they called me about last weekend, this is a dog that the owner wants to dump because they are expecting twins.: : I hope he gets along with my girls! I am also going to go vet another dog at a shelter for the rescue, but I can only foster the one.
This is my Satan jr. (Letting 9 year olds name pets is fun!). He died on Thursday. I took him to the vet last week because he was lethargic and not eating. The vet told me that the other rats were attacking him. I told him they weren't but he insisted. Turns out he had an intestinal blockage. Not quite the same thing, but at least he got to suffer in agony for longer than necessary, and ultimately die due to the vet's incompetence and arrogance.

Getting a straight answer out of them is not easy. I think they have only had him a year, and he was rehomed before that. They forgot the surrender certificate and rabies cert...they only two things we asked them for. I made them send me pics of it. He's gorgeous! Much taller than my girls, but very thin. He is doing really well so far.
Thanks.
I sent an email to the vet's office. They refunded my money... But it doesn't bring my boy back, or take back his suffering.
From now on I am sticking to specialist exotic pet clinics for the rats. They cost way more but at least they know what they're doing.
This is one of my other boys, Snuffles. He is my favourite. He sits on my shoulder all day and tries to french kiss me and lick my eye balls.
I love him so much
My brat graduated from basic training class. I'm so proud!

Omg that is too cute congrats doggie momma!
Ok Nic, you were right. We brought the latest foster home two weeks ago today and hubby told me that same night "we're keeping him". This was the man that told me that he didn't want me to foster again when this dog came up on the rescue's radar. He fall in love with him. Sucker! Seriously though, this dog checks all the boxes. It feels like he has been here forever. My girls love him, we love him, and he is so sweet. He also has an immune disorder that we are familiar with (had another one with it over a decade ago) that I think some people wouldn't want to deal with, so it works out that he ended up in our home. So yeah, in this case foster=staying. LOL. I will upload some pics when I am on my other computer.
So my girl turns one next week. She has an appointment to get spayed the next week.
