Just throwing this out there.. I dislike Martinez. He's not personable and he's a dick. Sure, he's got a job to do and you can do it without being a dick. Just flipped over to JVM and they're all discussing on there how he's going to alienate the jury with his attitude. He will absolutely do that if he doesn't watch himself. Furthermore, you don't get that pissed off and smartassy in a courtroom unless you feel your case is threatened. That witness can harm his case and he knows it. I don't want to see Jodi get off, but if he don't slow his fucking roll they just might acquit her because they hate his ass.

I guess it's a difference in interpretation, because I think that aggression is intended to emphasize the ridiculousness of the guy's claims.

Yes, he can do his job without being a dick, but Jodi could have gotten dumped without stabbing and shooting a man. No pussyfooting around it. I kind of wanted to throw up when Nurmi was giving Leslie Udy that shit-eating grin when she took the stand. It's just...an angry case.

Yes, it's really an issue. There's been plenty of cases that it has been speculated the defendant was convicted because they hated the counsel. Whether it be the prosecutor or defense. One that I know of for a fact and I've mentioned it before is the Cory Maye case. He was convicted and sent to death row (who has since been released) and one of the jurors admitted to voting guilty simply because she hated his attorney. It's real and not being snarky, but if you don't think the jury convicts or releases based on emotion then you're behind.

Jodi could have done a lot different, but that's irrelevant when it comes to whether or not the jury likes the counsel. Obviously, had she not went batshit this trial wouldn't be taking place right now.
