Loaded question. He's been home for two and a half years, we've been together for 10. It's NOT easy, but I sure as shit don't consider myself a hero for being with him. I'm LUCKY to b with him. He's the one who sacrificed, not me.

oh, totally. i don't consider myself to be a hero, either. just saying that its not easy. but in cases like that couples, its different. they're not married, they're super young, and that is A LOT for a young chick to take on. having to deal with someone who has ptsd is bad enough, but with physical challenges like that, it really makes things harder. i don't think she's a hero, but she's a strong woman. i admire and respect that.

i love it. i never tell women they look good when they gain weight, but there are several times i've thought it before.

and before i'm accused of skinny bashing, imo some people just look a little better with some weight on them. i blame bone structure.

i'm always pissed off at people who acknowledge my weight gain out loud. i'm fairly self aware of how i look... if i don't think i look good, i certainly don't want you telling me i do. feels like a pity compliment.

This. I've gained weight recently I believe due to a med I'm on (or maybe I'm making excuses? ) ... 5ish lbs, but on a 5'2" frame, it's noticeable. Well, a woman that I work with came up to me, said "Wow you've put on weight!! Your arms weren't always that big were they?? Are you having a baby?!" I was so stunned I couldn't talk Then she tried to save it (?) by saying "Oh it looks good on you though! You should keep that weight on!"

Um, no thanks. You've, sadly, made me want to no longer eat EVER. I'm just a quiet girl that would never acknowledge anything like that (gain or loss), even if I did feel good about it. Saying "Ooo I gained _lbs in all the right places!!!" is not my style. Just as saying "Look at me, I lost _lbs!!" isn't either.

you kidding me? i run around doing the cabbage patch every time i lose weight... 'i lost 5 pou-ounds, i lost 5 pou-ounds!' but geez... i got a friend who told me once - 'hey anne! you're looking healthy... you got some girth to you.'
