For those who saw Dark Night, I'm looking for thoughts about what happened to the Joker at the end. Since he didn't die and they didn't really show what became of him.
My belief is that it didn't matter if he fell, or was shot by the swat team, or was arrested. The true conflict was between the people of Gotham, Batman, and their morality. The Joker was just a "mad dog" on the loose as he said, and he had no agenda other than creating chaos. Once he was taken out of the equation, his punishment and fate was irrelevant.
I liked that ending. I think after 2 1/2 hours of the Joker doing the worst things ever, a cliche violent and bloody death would've been anti climactic.
