Detectives are searching for clues leading to the disappearance of a seventeen year old girl out of Sheridan. Pamelia Alise Westbrook, known as Alise, was last seen at home on her computer.
Detectives don't believe Alise was abducted. They think she left on her own accord. But now, they're concerned she had gone to meet someone she had possibly met online, and it's been nearly three weeks since anyone has heard from her.
17 year old Alise Westbrook had just returned from church camp when she was on the computer at her home, just outside of Sheridan. That was June 29th, the last time she was seen.
"In the past, she's made contact with strange older men online and met some of them in person, which concerns us," Detective Robert Bird with the Grant County Sherriff's Department said. said.
Detective Robert Bird says Westbrook has run away before, but she's always come home quickly and contacted family in the meantime. This time, there's been no contact, and no sign of her. Now officers are investigating phone calls and computer messages, hoping to find any clue in her disappearance
"There's always the chance something could happen. We hope that's not the case here. We hope she's missing on her own accord, and if that's the case, she sees this and contacts her family or us, and maybe this won't turn into a tragedy like some other cases have been," Bird said.
If you have any information about her whereabouts, you're asked to call the Grant County Sherriff's Department at 870-942-2101
