http://www.wsbtv.com/news/16699814/detail.htmlJEFFERSON, Ga. -- Authorities in Jefferson are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a storage freezer.
Jefferson Police Chief Joe Wirthman says police were called to 42-year-old Billie Welty's home Sunday after her estranged husband found her in a chest freezer.
One of Welty's neighbors, Randi Russell, told the Athens Banner-Herald that he thought Welty was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and decided to sit inside her freezer to stay cool.
Wirthman says that while neighbors believe the death was accidental, police can't rule out foul play until after the autopsy.
