I'm one essay away from being able to take my GED tests. I've gotten above average scores on all my pretests so far and if the GED tests are the same then I'll be moving to Tigard in a couple of weeks! (Because apparently it's almost impossible to take all 5 tests in the same day.) It's only taken me almost a year but I've finally gotten to it. :-) :-)
Ugh Tigard.  (no offense, I have an ex from there)
The GED tests are pretty easy. I was first in/first out for all tests I took and got pretty high scores. I'm sure you'll fly through them!  :)

Ahhh, I love the magic eraser! The only thing I do not like about it is it does not seem to be very durable? I use it to clean my surround in my bathroom and it does wonders but it seems like it literally disinigrates in my hands.

lmao....errr...OOO...I did not know it was suppose to actually disintegrate. *Feels really dumb now*  :2embarrassed:
I have never been good at reading directions. I had a bathtub to prove that. After numerous attempts to remove hard water stains I used some lime away just poured it on the spots and umm well took the finish right off my bathtub. Well, actually it pretty much took a chunk out of my bathtub.

hahahaha.    well, the magic eraser IS kind of weird.  lol.  it looks like a regular sponge, so its kind of unnerving when it just starts to disappear.

I'm intrigued.....

The commissary is open today and I'm going to look for one of these.  That is a Dumb Thing That Makes Me Happy.  How pathetic am I?

If they do have one, I'm going to have to figure out something to clean.  I have one of those plastic adirondack chairs that I didn't take in for the winter and now it's all covered with green mossy shit.  Do you think the Magic Eraser will take care of that, because the 409 didn't touch it.  This is Industrial Strength Belgian Green Mossy Shit.
You are talking to a woman who has laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom and chuckled at catastrophe.

No shit!  Did you have to fight Linda Evans for him?

   Hyper you're a very punny fellow.  Like my husband.

He took me to "Monkey World," an ape rescue center in Dorset (romantic little bugger that he is).  We were standing in front of one of the enclosure and I turned to him and said, "Thank you for driving all the way here, this place is great!"  And he responded with:  "Anything for you honey.  After all, you're the gorilla my dreams!"

My mum is obbsessed with this place

I'm obsessed with it too.  I have all the videos.  When that chimpanzee attacked that woman in Connecticutt I immediately thought of Jim & Alison Cronin (RIP Jim) and what they would have to say about it.

Watching Sam play with a balloon.  He really thinks its the greatest thing on earth.
Petey, the new lady I met that is starting a home cooking business (mmmm.... squash bisque).
When Joe warms up my car for me.
Finishing Sam's thank you cards.

Oh, and Kim, if you PM me your address, I can send you the erasers.  They cost a couple of bucks, weigh nothing, and you get 4 in a box.

Me = The proud owner of Mr. Clean Magic Erasers!    I just picked them up on my lunch break.  Yay for me, our lame-ass commissary actually had them!

But thank you puzzld and peavey for your very kind offer to send them to this otherwise Magic Eraser-deprived country.   :kiss3:

Girl, you are out of your mind.  If I was in the United States I wouldn't set foot in a BX.

I hate AAFES with a purple passion (to coin a phrase from my childhood).  "Serving the best customers in the World!"  Yeah, serving them second-rate, out-of-season, irregular shit that no one else in the free world would buy.  And if we're the best customers in the world, why do they dick us around so much?

Here's what I say to AAFES:  A Big Fat

You are new to the military Grasshopper.  You will learn to hate the evil that is AAFES.  Give it time (and an overseas assignment).

Oh.  Wait.  This is dumb things that make me HAPPY.  Sorry....

the BX and commissary here are great.  they actually just built a brand new commissary next to the old one, and its opening soon! the food there is so cheap, and its not old icky leftovers from somewhere else.  and we have the take it home today card with a high credit limit, and 0% interest so we could buy all of our appliances

i don't like the aafes website though.  that thing sucks balls.

I shouldn't have included the commissary in my rant.  That was unfair.  I like DECA - it's AAFES I have a problem with.

But AAFES is most definitely icky leftovers and irregulars - check out the clothing brands.  Passports?!?  Really?  Where else in the world can you get Passports brand clothing?  One wash and your size 6 dress can fit my four year old granddaughter.

My girlfriend used to be a buyer for AAFES and my son used to be a department manager - I got all the inside scoop.  Plus, they treat their employees like crap.  Hate 'em, hate 'em, hate 'em - and you will too once the novelty (of exclusive shopping rights) wears off.   Oh yeah, and the first time you go to buy nail polish at the BX but you have to travel half-way across post to buy nail polish remover at the BX-tra and then five blocks down to the Shoppette for the cotton balls because, that's right - you're the "Best Customer in the World!" and those three AAFES facilities won't duplicate stock.

Jim died of liver cancer in NYC last March (or maybe it was March 2007?).  It was all very sudden and unexpected.  He died only a month or two after he was diagnosed.

Yes, "Monkey Business" is what started my obsession with Monkey World.  I watched it faithfully - loved the opening music with the monkeys hooting and the drums beating!  I had Stephen take me to Monkey World and I bought all the videos.  Unfortunately, this was right in the middle of the big switch from VHS to DVD so my copies are VHS.  I don't have any way to watch them anymore.

The BX here is cool, I don't shop for clothes or anything like that there.  Mostly just candy, video games, shampoo, and random things like shelf liners and toilet bowl brushes.  I have seen the clothes they have, and    do not want.  ever.

The commissary is fun though.  Jarrod and I go in there and spend hours buying food, looking around, and making fun of people.

Stick with this and you should be fine.  No electronics, camera equip, etc.  A month after I bought my digital camera I lost the charger - couldn't find one anywhere.  Then I found out my camera had been discontinued by the manufacturer almost two years earlier.  :2angry:

Why do I insist on spelling his name Jerrod?

My co-workers and I have a game we play in the commissary and the food court that is very politically incorrect and involves trying to figure out why someone would dress like this:

We have several different categories and try to determine which one the offender falls in.  Ew, awkward sentence.  I'm not normally a catty person but some things just scream out for it, you know?

That's me and my sister.  :2sad:
