lol. I'm seriously not sure if my TV is going to work this week once they make the digital switchover. It's this week, right? I know it's analog (I've had it since 1998 and it's a great TV! Way bigger than my friends' mini-flat screens). But they keep saying - if you plug it into your wall you should be fine - assuming that you have a cable system. I don't, really. I just plug it into the wall and get some channels. It could very well be a rooftop antenna for all I know. We shall see.

Umm I've got a bad feeling about this.
But if you really like your TV, you should be able to get a converter box for about $50 that will keep you on.

I got lucky and my house burned so I got all new TVs. :lol:

That's the way they felt. So they got the converter box because their TV was still perfectly good. Of course now they can't work the remote, but that's a different rant for a different day. In fact, I've already done that rant.

STOP. You are really confusing me. If you have a big, nice TV that you like why are you going to buy a new smaller TV that you won't like so much when all you have to do is get the converter?
I mean, yeah, I was pissed that my parents did that, but they could buy any damned TV they want plus they would not have to deal with the extra remote for the box. They have trouble with that stuff, but I imagine you do not.

Haha. i was waiting for that question. No. I can't ask my landlord. I can't ask my landlord why it takes me three hours to do a load of laundry because the cold water doesn't come out. I can't ask him why my dishwasher vibrates my entire apartment. But I can deal with that stuff. Um. I'm the horrible renter in a sea of people who own their lofts. I just try to lay low and thank my lucky stars that I don't live in a shitty apartment building!!!

Nah, to each his own. My brother moved to Chicago (one of the suburbs actually but I don't remember whch one) and now lives in California. He's a big city boy. I prefer to stay here. [size=5pt]Especially if he stays there. [/size]

NO idea what I'd do without my big screen tv. I remember when our last one went poof. It was one my hubby's parents gave to us. We had to watch a smaller tv for a couple of weeks. Thankfully we got a new one in time for the Super Bowl and Baseball season. I can't do sports on lil tv sets :lol:
