There are hardly any Puerto Rican places by me. The bodegas by my mum are Central American and the ones by work are Dominican. So so good. Nothing like a nice hispanic feast and an ice cold Arizona watermelon to wash it down with. :swoon:
My best gay is PR and omg the food his mother cooked for his graduation party. Chicken, pork like I like it (fatback ), rice and beans, yucca. OMG
Oh I am jello of the homecooked meal. Can I swing by when I am in NY next summer. I can bring Cider. I know I don't eat all the stuff that you do, but I have a feeling I could let some things slide.
That's not so unusual I have come across so many people in the past few years that just do not do leftovers. I love them, well I really love beans & rice leftovers and some others. I think it comes out of basically cooking two different styles of food for my Mom & I.
Ugh! 25th doesn't work - I'm driving to Pennsylvania the next morning for work. (fucking job!) Following Saturday?
Oh, and I should probably post this since it's the reason I popped into this thread hours ago. Sorry it's a repeat from FB . . .
Worked a 23 hour yesterday, came home and went to bed at 6. Woke up to find a breakfast sammich waiting for me and one of these in the fridge:
Damn, my man is good
Oh I can't imagine reheating meat, but then again...lol
I actually love making enchilada's because they are better the next day and I agree with the lasagna.
For me, the only reheatable meat is chicken and you have to do it just right so it doesn't dry out. And pretty much anything Italian is awesome the next day. My HS bestie's dad would grow his own eggplant and zucchini and he made the best damn eggplant parm. After a night of clubbing we'd hit her house and slap that shit, cold, between two slices of wonder bread. It was heaven.
