No bond for man accused of raping SC teen he met on MySpace

Bond has been denied for an Alabama man charged with raping a 14-year-old South Carolina girl he met on MySpace.

WYFF-TV in Greenville reports that a judge made the ruling Thursday during an arraignment hearing for 21-year-old Jared Heath Gaskey. Gaskey is charged with second-degree rape, soliciting a child over the Internet and kidnapping.

Police say Gaskey met the girl online between March and April, and the two also began text messaging each other.

On April 25, police say he drove from Gadsden, Ala., to Greenville to pick the girl up from Northwest Middle School.

They say Gaskey drove the girl back to Alabama, where they had sex. Police found the girl after her mother reported her missing.

my parents didn't allow it. I let them know at first and I guess my bf of the time is lucky they didn't put him in jail. the 20 yr old I dated when I was 15 was actually a real nice guy.  :oops: It was totally my doing though. I pursued him like crazy. My parents and his parents tried to end it. But instead I created a pretend bf, he was a friend closer to my age who would pick me up and drop me off, where I'd ask him to, to meet up with the older guy. I know looking back I was crazy. He drove a motorcycle. I wasn't into any of the boys at my school. I at the time.. always had a thing for older men. I was never raped by him though he didn't lead me anywhere. I was the instigator of it all. I know it was wrong, and I'm sure he looks back now and wonders what the hell he was thinking. He'd introduce me to all his friends and they always gave us a hard time.

Still, the thing with this guy is it looks like he exploited her and took advantage of her in the ickiest way possible. Picking her up from school and taking her to another state so that he could fuck her - a month after meeting her on MySpace? Yeah, gross. Well it's not as sick for the 14-year old for a myriad of reasons.
But long story short, the 20-year old is the alleged adult in the situation, and the aggressor, so they should be acting like a grown up.

14 from 11 is totally different. I'm not saying it's okay, but some of the 14 yr old girls at my son's school look more like a women compared to me! lol. Most are taller then me. And working on the play this pass season I got some of these girl's measurements  :-o
